**** First of all EID MUBARAK to everyone yayay!!!!!**

Now what's Eid,seriously google it -__- hehe just kidding it's something like Christmas but yet very different from it.Last for 3-4 days,a moment of celebration, for muslim all over the world. We have it twice a year, and this one is Eid-ul-Fitr.
Now what's Chaand Raat, translates into Moon Night, the night where people sight the moon,to mark the beginning of a new month Shawwal.
This is what the moon looks like :)

This year we had full 30 days of fasting, seriously I hate Geo News' Headlines  >.<
I was hoping for 29 ;) but no problems an extra blessed day, what harm would it have done.
So usually Chaan Raat is a time to prep yourself, haircutting, waxing, facial, massaging, you name it LOL.And most of all putting/applying Mehndi or Henna and my Eid's never complete without Mehndi ,some years before Bangles too were very important, but now I am just a little lazy, plus I have so maanny, that never break and my arms that never grow fat.so..yeah.
\
On Eid usually we meet one another,go for Eid prayer, here in the Middle East even Women go to the Masjid, but back home, usually they stay behind to prepare sweet dishes :D
Also every kid receives Eidi, not exactly kid I guess unmarried kid I guess uhh..anyways and dress wearing and also going to Amusement Parks and Fireworks!!!
Well for the past few years either we've been missing fireworks or maybe there wasn't any Show??..Also most of the day we spend it sleeping :P

Now For Mehndi over the years
**(DRUM ROLLLL!!!)**

Well, seriously we feel exploited Mehndi rates have become so high -___-
The reason 2009 and 2010 don't have two pictures is because I spent the Eid in Pakistan, and I guess I didn't get Mehndi applied or it wasn't worth a picture.
1st Picture from the left in the 2nd row was my attempt at Stencils didn't turn out that good.
The other two were freakin expensive and the last two gorgeous ones are from my BFF :D Also my hands are very tiny so well very rarely designs look good on me :P

And this year magically seriously magically even  I could apply it(last year all I did was scribble :P) without shaking and it turned out pretty good!! YAYAY I was so amazed and happy!! Good things do happens to you when you live positively :D

Only 8/9 days left to Eid!! YAY!!

This time of the year is the most exciting time..shopping,meeting with family.Eid just creates such a homely ambiance which is spread throughout the city ^-^
Okay but for stingy and indecisive people like me ,shopping is the most fearful experiences of our lives :/ . I am not a super miser-y person, but unlike my parents I just don't feel like buying so much at one go.
The biggest problem is that there aren't many Pakistani shops which sell,so only if you're lucky you get good clothes at good prices.

I tried bokeh-fying the picture so the dresses couldn't be very visible, but without much luck ended up with the above picture(which I know is badly edited).I know Eid is only for 3 days and the picture has 4 items. We bought only 1 and the rest 3 were for me to try on and check if they look good.(I know the shop-keepers were such good people and old friends of my Dad). They all looked good,so my big-hearted Dad suggested to keep them all,but you see we had a neighbour over, who went like ," What will you do with so many dresses, opening a boutique, huh?" How mean -_- ,people should learn to use their words carefully. So she doesn't "red-eye" my dresses, I bought one more and returned the others.

Seriously Eid shopping is like entering a haunted house,my parents forcing me to buy,me not wanting to buy such expensive clothing, time limit, high prices arggh!!! I was almost in tears :'(
Although one was a Hi-Lo dress, but not exactly in the colour I wanted,so I had to return that as well, what's the point of wasting money?
SO yep that's it for today :)

Yipppi !!^__^
My first OOTD as promised :)
This is a black, brown gold dress bought from Pakistan. It's just so freakin gorgeous and a perfect fit :)
Obviously Iftaar party = Modest colours, but as it was a a close friend's so she wanted me too wear this :D
I've worn this before to 2 weddings 'cuz it's so blingy.I don't know what they call it open coat? style but I love it.To kinda neutralise the whole shimmery-ness I went with a no make-up/jewellery look :) Although the jewellery with it was so beautiful -_-
One of the most comfortable dress, and really fancy at the same time :D

Shoes: Jessigirl
Ring: Adore

NEXT UP: Hair stuff ,shhh it's a secret :P

Ramadan Kareeem!

I know it's almost the 18th of Ramadan and I am dead late but GrannyK was here,so got a l'il busy -_-
Ok for those who don't know whats Ramadan, its the month of fasting , where Muslims , who are sane adults ( reached puberty)  nor eat or drink from sunrise-sunset. (For us I guess the time interval is 16 hours :o) It's done so,that we people realise how the poorer community lives and also to practise self-control and self-discipline.
In this month, all pray the same 5 prayers, but the rewards are multiplied and also we have the Tarawih- the night prayers which are held in congregation.
You must wondering then why do poor people fast as well, that's because every person should realise that they have to be grateful for what they have, even if it's very less.As the recitation of the Quran is increased, and also you abstain from foul behaviour, the soul is purified :)
No,it has no adverse effect on ones health, but I feel like I am so much better :)

So the special food:

For Sehri(the meal before sunrise):
Parathas so many different types :p ( fried? flat bread) and some curry, yogurt, Laban. It sounds heavy but I like it.

For Iftari (meal after sunset):
Pakodas (fritters),Samosas,Spring Rolls obviously Fruit Chaat to replenish you, Juices,Channa Chaat, and obviously we break/open our fast with Dates

This is definitely not a Scholastic article, better refer to those who are much more well-versed :)
And for those freaks who think fasting is not good for skin , I have no words for you guys ,except these :Have a bowl of Fruit Chaat and some juices and and glass of water. You'll have more than enough nutrients than you could possibly have  in a year :p
I did this so I could enlighten you as to why am I so busy.you see there's a lot of cutting and frying and dish washing involved but an  Iftar Party outfit of the day will be coming soon :)

PS: I made the graphic myself, I know it's not that good but that's what I could come up with in 10 minutes :O
